And Continued to Queenstown

The manor house in Christchurch was pretty impressive, but we didn't have THIS view from our balcony (and from our bed, actually...)

The view of Lake Wakatipu continued left and right and I could have shared any of a dozen pictures I took while sitting, contemplating, relaxing. Sigh. I miss it already! Maria and Joe, our hosts at the Matterhorn Chalet--and yes, it looked just like a Swiss chalet and the rooms are named Edelweiss and Alpine and suchlike--were just as impressive and they also did a serious breakfast. More on Queenstown tomorrow, as this is where we actually Did Stuff...other than sitting and contemplating the view and enjoying those fabu breakfasts and putting on weight!

I'll comment on all your travel posts here. What a wonderful trip you had! And how beautiful. I never realized what New Zealand looked like until watching "Lord of the Rings." I want to visit so much but can only dream about it. Maybe I'll win one of those big powerball jackpots and can go one day. *g*

Thanks for sharing with us, Bron.

Ladies, if you do ever win that powerball or lotto you MUST take a trip "down under". There's so much to love about the scenery and the people and the laidback way of life. Out of interest: quite a number of Americans and Europeans are moving permanently--to be as far away from terrorism and/or the bird flu pandemic as they can manage.

Ooh, and I forgot to mention: that rock on the opposite side of the lake is named something like Cedric or Cecil or Walter, which really tickled me. A very unassuming name for such a spectacular rock. It's named for one of the sons of the first pastoralist settler. His third son was Nicholas, which at least sounds more grand and romance-hero-like than poor old Cecil/Cedric or Walter.

Nicholas had the adventure and romance and poor cecil got the rock, lol.
