Speaking of Weddings...

Valentine's Day holds special significance for me as it was also my wedding day. Romantic, huh? Dare I admit that the choice was mainly for practical reasons? It was a good choice because all those ad's with red roses and pink hearts remind us (and by us, I mean my dh *g*) that an anniversary is just around the corner. No one is allowed to forget.

For the next week I'm taking a computer-free break, but on my return I would love to read about your most memorable Valentine's Day or anniversary moment...or perhaps I should say your most memorable moment you're prepared to share on a public forum! *g* And because it's Valentine's Day, there's a giveaway or two which I'll draw from the comments.

Wishing you all many memorable and romantic moments between now and my return.

P.S.: I have a new cover-art jigsaw for the jigsaw fans among you. Enjoy!

UPDATE -- GIVEAWAY WINNER: Congratulations to Playground Monitor and Bamabelle. Email me with your address and I will post your special post-Valentines treat!

I have never had a Valentine or an anniversary, but I do have a sweet memory about a Valentine gift from my parents.

Every year for as long as I can remember on Valentine's Day my parents have always given me something. Well, when I was in high school I was very sick with a variety of ailments. One year in between doctors' visits and errands, my mother had not had time to pick me up something for V-Day. Well, we went to the doctor on V-Day and found out I was going to have to go into the hospital for a few days for my migraines. As we were leaving to go home to pack my bag, I was feeling very bummed, and then I saw the most adorable teddy bear in the hospital gift shop window! I showed him to my mother and the next thing I knew he was mine!!! He became my Valentine's Day gift. The bear spent the next four days in the hospital with me and I still have him today!

My most romantic memorable valentine's day was last year. My husband totally surprised me with roses, diamonds and a teddy bear. I cried like a baby. He videotaped my reaction and we have viewed it several times to relive the moment.

Happy Anniversary! I wish you many more wonderful years!

My most rememorable was not from a boyfriend,it was from my Dad.He bought me a ruby(my birthstone)and diamond heart necklace. He actually picked it out not my evil step-mother, so that made it even better. This was four years ago and its most memorable in the reasons above but mostly because he passed away four months later,so it was the best and last valentine gift from my sweet Dad.

My boyfriend at time(I've been single now for 4 years) was always buying me a flower from the girl that went around the bar, One year for Valentine's Day he bought me a fake rose that had a small light bulb inside that you could light up the rose and also a stuffed teddy bear holding a heart.
Happy Anniversary and Happy Valentine's Day.

Hey Bron, I don't have single Valentine's Day story to tell but couldn't avoid wishing you and your dh a wonderful anniversary (even if you aren't coming up to the Mainland!)

Two years ago on Valentine's Day, my husband arranged a trip to Memphis for us. He would not tell me any of the details until we got there. It turned out he had made reservations at The Peabody, which was beautiful. We had a lovely dinner there. When dinner was over he said he had another little surprise. We walked outside, and their was a horse drawn carriage waiting. It was cold at first, but we cuddled under the blankets as we rode along the streets of Memphis. The driver took us through a park alongside the river. It was such a wonderful experience. I felt a little like a princess that night. That will always be a wonderful memory for both of us.

Back when I was still working in the corporate world, I was at my desk one Valentine's Day when I heard a disturbance coming from the front desk area (we were all in open cubicles, so you heard everything that went on). I heard someone page me over the intercom. I went to the front desk and there stood four tuxedo-clad men who presented me with a beautiful long-stemmed red rose and then sang to me. They were a Barbershop quartet and they did two songs. I was stunned to say the least and all the other women were so envious. Then a few years later, I was working in another building and darned if those guys didn't show up again and serenade me. The DH earned MAJOR brownie points with that.

Of course the weeklong trip to Cancun for our 30th anniversary a few years back ranks right up there too. *g*

My most memorable Valentine's Day was over twenty years ago when my husband asked me to marry him. He's the best thing that has ever happened to me and I'd marry him all over again in a heartbeat.

Aw, ladies, you've made me all teary and bleary-eyed reading your lovely stories and Valentine Day memories. I love that love -- whether your sweetheart's, your family's, your friends' -- is still alive and being demonstrated in so many touching ways. Thank you all for sharing and because they're so lovely I'm going to have to reach for the numbers and hat and draw the giveaway winner at random.
