In the Sandbox

One thing I've learned since I started writing is that I like playing in the sandbox, as opposed to those writers who feel confined by the size and shape and rules and would rather be off and running through the wide open spaces beyond. That's why, firstly, I write genre fiction and, secondly, for a traditional category /series line, as opposed to single title/mainstream or one of the new non-traditional cross-genre series lines.

Not that that has anything to do with this sandbox and my fun interview with The Playground Monitor. The metaphor struck me as apt so I thought I'd mention it. And there's a fun giveaway for the first person who emails me with the answer to the following question:

What television game show did I appear on (twice, as it happens...but that's another story)?

ADDED MARCH 13: Congratulations to KimW, who was first to answer the spot giveaway question and wins the mystery prize.

Thank you for playing in our sandbox. It was fun getting to know you a little better. Obviously I'm not going to enter the contest. *g*

Hey Bron!!

Glad you like hanging out in our Sandbox. I, too, will refrain from entering the contest (even though I knew the answer without having to look it up :-))

Great interview,it was nice getting to know a little bit more about you. You sure have a lot on your plate!!Wow your farm is huge.
You mentioned your son is disabled,do you mind me asking how? or what from?
My answer to your question is Wheel of Fortune. How cool that you won a car!I've always wanted to go on it and especially Jeopardy. Now theres a new game show on called Deal or No Deal and it is sooo easy, you just pick numbered cases between 1 and 26 and try to not pick the million dollar one, hoping all along you have the million dollar case.

My husband loves Deal or No Deal. They did a casting call in our town and he was going to go to it. But because he has zero patience and won't stand in line, he just kept driving when he saw all the people lined up. He said "It would be okay if I had somebody to talk to in line." I told him "You talk to the other people in line!" DUH!

Glad you all enjoyed the interview, thanks to our favorite (and hardly scary at all) playground monitor! Some interviews are plain hard work but this one was fun, fun, fun.

I watched Deal of No Deal once and didn't get the appeal. I do like Jeopardy and Millionaire and we have one called (I think) Temptation which is also general knowledge. Guess I prefer the ones with questions/clues.

LOL at your dh, Marilyn. Isn't that just like a man?

I frequently remind him that we would starve it if was up to him to buy groceries. First time he saw more than one person in line, he'd abandon the buggy and leave.
