Congratulations on making it to the one year milestone! And wishing you many more happy years blogging.

I love blogs because it gives a voice to an author and makes them that much more accessable.

I like an author to be real. Share your thoughts. Share your highs. Share your lows. Rant if you want.

Don't worry about boring us. We can aways skim or skip read. And there will always be someone who won't be bored and will want to read more. Include photos when you can (very good way to attract attention). Actually I'd like to see a lot of photos. I'm a very visual person and like they say a picture is worth a thousand words.

And of course bribe us with treats every once in a while. A luscious photo. Delicous treats. Books or anything you'd like. It's one way to get the lurkers out of hiding.

The reason I visit the blogs I do is mostly to see the author's every day life. To realize that even our favorite famous authors go through the same kinds of ups and downs as we do. One of the reasons I visit your blog is cause I like to hear your Australian accent. grin.

The blogs on my must-visit list have to be kept current. It's understandable that you can't always blog daily if it's just you, but to let it go for months on end? That's the death sentence.

What I like about your blog is;hearing about what's going on in your life,what's new on the writing front,behind the scenes on your ideas is always interesting, trips,funny stuff, love pictures, learning about Australia[my dream destination],and giveaways. Blogs are a way to keep everything real. I love authors' blogs when they let us get personal with the authors. Let us know that there is a real person with a real life on the other side of the blog. It helps us to know that we are not the only ones with problems as well as letting the authors know that we are here to support them. We readers also get to know each other as well. We also get to find out about the up and coming that we otherwise would know nothing about. That is a great plus! Prizes are also great, too.
 

Happy first birthday!! I visit your blog because I love your books and know I can get the latest news here. Plus, you always have something intesting to say and reading your blog makes you seem more "real" to me. I do visit often, I'm just one to not post very often. I find writing isn't something that comes easy and a post can take me so long to compose. So, because of that, I tend to lurk.

Most of the blogs I visit are, of course, authors because I love to read and they tend to be happy people, like you. lol True!

I think it must be so time consuming for someone to keep a blog going. Kuddos to you for providing constant entertainment. Maybe you could have some of your author friends blog for a day ever so often and talk about their books. I'm always looking for new favorites to add to my list.

Happy 1st Birthday to your Blog! Some of the things that keep me going back to an authors blog are stories about the author's day to day life, pictures. information on upcoming releases and excerpts. It also is a plus when the author has an author has an occasional prize drawing. I am new to your Blog but I can tell you from the past posts I have read that I have enjoyed the warm, personal comments and the wonderful pictures. I may not comment at blogs every day but if I find them warm and personal I will at least stop by regularly and read the posts.
 

Happy Blog Birthday! I enjoy reading blogs, but don't post very often--I visit multiple author sites, and it would be way too time consuming to do it on a routine basis. Reading sites has allowed me to become acquainted with many authors I might not have considered reading otherwise. I do enjoy the contests, and appreciate the fact that you are throwing all the names in a hat rather than just saying the first to post (or 2nd, 3rd, etc.). Not much incentive to post if you don't get to them right away!

It is great to have a milestone to celebrate. Yum! you are making me wander off from the topic with all this talk of cream and strawberries and toffee and almonds! Yumilacious!!

* What do you love about the blogs on your must-visit list?
- I love to visit them as they are daily updated and new info is added around the clock even if it is not writing related. Just a few glimpses of an author's life makes the visit worthwhile. Of course, the contests and giveaways are an added bonus like icing on the cake.

* Why do you visit my blog?
- You have neat and new info all the time with pics of Australia and the book signings you go to. I live far far away so that makes a big difference to me. Blogs make authors feel more human to readers. I still get starry eyed if an author responds and emails me.

* What would make you visit more frequently?
- Frequent contest do make the life more interesting. Nothing bores me particularly. I would love to hear you rant and rave about something that has bothered you or even if you made cookies. Invite a guest blogger someday, you can introduce new authors to us who are your friends. Lastly, write more interesting books that make our paws itch and crave for more info. We would certainly stick to your blog like glue! LOL!

I love to read blogs for the information I can get about the author, but also on other authors as well. I find some of my fave authors through others when I didn't even know they have a website, or blog to go to.
Usually, when i visit a blog I get 'lost' in the author's site for the long haul. Until I read everything their site offers.

I enjoy reading blogs, especially those from writers outside of the USA. It gives an idea of what the world is like from another perspective, not only from the climate and such, but different lifestyles.

I truly love it when you give an example of slang or phrases that are common over there and translate. It makes the reading that much more enjoyable.

I love the daily connection with other writers and interesting people; I visited today just to see what you've been up to and to see if you had anything new coming out soon; and what prompts me to visit any blog is the warmth, the humor, the 'connection' that lets me know I'm not alone and that others are succeeding.

I don't like visiting anyone to pick up writing tips - LOL - not to say I don't appreciate them from time to time. I'm just more interested in 'this works for me' and 'this is what I'm working on', things of a more personal nature without the blogger/writer making it sound like the readers are her best friends.

In other words, you're doin' great with me. I wouldn't change a thing.
