I've like your books but the idea that you didn't think of the premise, setting, characters and story was disappointing to me. How often do the editors plan the books like this? I guess this explains why we get so many out of wedlock pregnancies as story lines. Jean

Happy Blogday to you, Bronwyn. I know I'm a few days late since I'm here as a result of your newsletter. I'm sorry you didn't win a RITA. But I guess the same goes for it as for an Oscar or any other award. If you're nominated twice or in your case even thrice, it does tend to scatter the vote and that's really too bad. I guess I should have checked out the "Idea... before blogging. Well, I'll let you in on a secret: I'm not very well organized.
And I love your blog picture. What kind of tree is that. A few years ago I read up quite a bit on Australia because my cousin and his wife moved there, had a son there and probably will stay there. They moved there from Germany. He'd been to Australia a few times in his roving job. Since they couldn't get into Canada, where our family lives, or at least had to wait a long time, so they went to Australia. They live in Winmalee in the Blue Mountains. I'd love to go there sometime and see them and the country but I'd have to get a windfall or some sort of steady employment first. I've been on disability for over 10 years now and will never be able to go out into the workforce again.
Just this week I finished Once a Mistress Wife. This has been a great series and am looking forward to see how Maureen wraps it up. (I still want a Tristan)
I can't wait to read this book!! I'm going to look for it today. Very cool that the series is set in CT. I used to e-mail you when I lived there before I moved to RI.
Jean, the continuity series are the ONLY books where the editors come up with the storylines. In Desire, that would be series such as the Fortunes, Texas Cattlemans Club, the various Dynasties, and now the Society Wives one. ALL the other books are author generated--including series by an individual author) from original idea through to the finished book.
Thought I should clear that up, because your comment read as if you might think I didn't come up with any ideas myself -- so not true! I've done 3 editor continuity books now (including next Feb's Fortunes one) but my other 9 books are ALL MINE!!!
Also, a heads-up that some continuity series are author generated. IOW, the authors came up with the idea and have done all the work. Examples: the Madonna Key series in Bombshell and there's an 07 Desire mini-series whose name escapes me which was devised by the authors involved.
I've actually been working on an idea for a multi-author Desire continuity set in Australia and New Zealand with other down-under authors. Fingers crossed you'll get to see that author-generated series in 2008. I'm swamped at the moment, but will be back soon to respond to other posts -- that one I needed to clear up right away in case of misconception!
G'day, Bron. Very much enjoyed reading this book. Made me appreciate all the hard work that goes into playing Austrailian football. :) Can't wait to read what you have coming up next.
Love the picture of the Tree also, and the other pictures posted here on the blog. I really do think The Bought-And-Paid-For-Wife will be a great read. Will have to try and get the whole series on these books.
One of the other great things about blogs is hearing everyone else's opinions (writers and readers) and the interaction between the two. I always learn something new :)
I really enjoyed this book. Tristan can come my way any day!! I read this whole series this month, and now can't wait for the last one to come out. Will you be doing another series like this soon?
