Why I Don't Buy The Local Newspaper

I don't buy it very often but yesterday I did. Now I know that we're paying the highest petrol (gas) prices in the state of New South Wales and for no discernible reason. Places a LOT more remote and distant from the city and seaports are paying significantly less. I didn't need to know this, since I can't do anything about it (except stay home even more than I already do.) And I wouldn't have known if I hadn't bought the paper.

Here, Bron. Have a Tim Tam and a Chocolate Cherry and Coconut Muffin. Is that Cold Play I hear playing in the background? Mmmmm, and is that your feet being massaged right now?

Petrol... who needs it.

I don't get the paper or watch the news very much because it's always bad news!
How much do you pay for petrol? We pay way too much,it's $2.79 a gallon right now!!!It's ridiculous.

LOL Bron, that's why we don't watch the news here, either. I remember when San Diego was the "experimental" city for not having regulated electricity (I don't remember anyone asking me if I wanted unregulated electricity) and it was a disaster of epic proportions. Power suddenly cost 4 times more, minimum. Drove a good 40% of business to bankruptcy and no one could do anything and it wasn't happening anywhere but San Diego.

I'm much happier without knowing the news. :)
Smooches,

Dena, we're paying $1.37+ a litre, which is 0.264 US gallons. So, that would be over $5 a gallon. Your $2.79 would be around $0.75 a litre which would be manna from heaven to me. (Bron falls down sobbing in her CCC Muffin.) SEE WHY I DIDN’T WANT TO KNOW?!?!

Dee, hugs on the high electricity price (and I sure do hope that's a thing of the past.) Power is definitely something I cannot live without...especially when I'm becoming a hermit due to the petrol prices. *g*

Bron, waiting for someone to come massage my feet

The gas station 1/2 a mile from me has regular unleaded gas for $2.19 a gallon. It's been steadily dropping for the past two weeks. My theory is that it will continue to drop until November 7 and then we'll see it skyrocket again. Of course, I could be wrong. Or other factors could play into things.

Marilyn -- who would like the foot masseur after Bron is through with him

Marilyn, when you return him to me, make sure he brings a truck load of that cheap gas!!!

Could you get some of that gas over here in NZ too please. We're thrilled at present to have had a drop in the petrol prices per litre, like Aussie. It's down to $1.46 a litre for 91 Octane (regular), and $1.51 for 96 Octane (premium). Still too darned expensive. It's a sad world when we think that $1.46 is a good thing!

Where's the foot dude gone?

Marilyn! Untoe that man. No, I didn't say untie him...

A drop? What drop? Guess that's a little slow making it to the bush. Yvonne and my fellow Kiwis, big hug on your high price, also.

Marilyn, we NEED the toe masseur. Tell him to hotfoot it back here, ASAP!

He's mine! He's all mine!!! At present he's tenderly massaging my poor arthritic foot, which is being affected quite negatively by the stormy conditions in the area. When I've finished with him, I'll send him along with a can of gasoline.

In addition to the massuer I think we all need a delicious tropical drink.

Bron I am shocked at the price you guys pay down there! It's time to revolt against the gas companies and get vehicles that run on everyday garbage. There are some cars that run on cooking oil,I wish they would become more affordable or solar cars were made more effectivelythat would stick it to them.

Dena, you are so right about alternative fuels. We need those, now, and I'm biting my tongue from getting political. In fact I'm biting my tonue a lot this morning -- so much, that it's starting to sting.
