I'm not happy today either. The dentist pulled a tooth yesterday and now I resembel a chipmunk and am in pain. Luckily we have our Thanksgiving here in Canada in October otherwise I would have only been able to have mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie(no crust). If any of this post doesn't make sense it's because the doc gave me drugs.
Oh, Christa. You have my sympathies. We're about to embark on the chipmunk venture with #1 daughter this Friday. Four impacted wisdom teeth to come out, the lower jaw ones can only be removed after he removes a bit of jawbone and attacks them sideways. Needless to say this will be happening in hospital and under general anaesthetic.
Any tasty mushy food suggestions would be most welcome.
The denist didn't say anything about mushy food just soft some of her recommendations were mac &cheese, mashed pot, liquids as long as it wasn't hot or cold, don't use a straw. When I worked at the nursing home we would mash the squash and add butter and brown sugar, if daughter likes squash. My step-mother used to buy those supplements like Boost or Ensure for my grandmother. They were really good and they came in strawberry, chocolate and vanilla. BTW Yvonne I am starting on the January Desires this morning.
Yvonne I reread your post, it sound like daughter won't be able to chew. I was able to chew a little because the work was done on the left side so I was able to chew on the right. Her instructions will probably be different.
Hi Bron,He may not be happy but I sure am looking at him, yummy.
I am going to get a tooth pulled too, weird. When I had all my wisdom teeth pulled I was able to eat jello, pudding, ice cream[after it sat for a little bit]mashed potatoes, soup, and applesauce. The first day was the hardest and only ate applesauce & pudding but it gets better.[the pain meds helped a lot] Also like Christa said no straws! I was put under for my extractions also but I didn't have the complication of having part of my jawbone being removed. I'm sure the doctor will have some really good suggestions for your daughter. My thoughts are with her and your family Yvonne.
You guys have given me some great suggestions for soft foods. It seem such a long time since I had to puree everything for her! Her boyfriend, bless him, has offered to chew her food for her! Eeeeuuuw!
Christa, I look forward to seeing what you think of the January Desires.
What is this? Bron posts a scrumptious hero and you guys compare dental notes????? My sympathies, of course. But focus on the MAN and forget your teeth.
LOL, Anne. I'm glad you said that because I was starting to wonder how to voice my concern about that tangent. I was thinking, is he not pretty enough???
OMG...who is he Bron?? Tell us more? Please? When can we read his story? Sorry to venture in so late, I'm waaaaay behind on reading my favourite blogs...
Have to say, I think Anne McAllister is a connoisseur of the gorgeous male. Hugh Jackman, Justin Marshall, James Purefoy...yum!
