Who Remembers the Cranberries?

Loved their songs back in the 90s and was reminded how much by 2 recent happenings. Firstly, whatshername-on-Rockstar Supernova reminded me what a great song Zombie is. Secondly, on one of those many flights I endured Click (I think that's the movie, it was less than memorable) where the lead couple's "song" was Linger. Couldn't get it out of my mind so I ordered a Best of album, which I'm now listening to and being reminded of their other great songs. Dreams. Salvation. Ode to my Family. I love the Irish lilt in Dolores O'Riordan's voice...not to mention her name! Anyone else remember The Cranberries?

Me! Me! I remember the Cranberries! They were great. What a unique voice Dolores had. Oh, and the Supernova contestant you're referring to is Dilana (she who was robbed!)

I love their music! Dolores has a voice that you immediately recognize

I remember them. Dilana did that song near the beginning of the show, right.

Dilana. right. How quickly I forget (and can I blame it on a brain overstuffed with Other Stuff?!?)

Christa, I didn't watch the early shows. I saw it somewhere near the end...although maybe that was showing previous performances. Huh.

Glad there are some other Crnaberry nuts (sounds like cereal ingredients) out there. Re Dolores' unique voice -- my dh came in yesterday while I was playing the CD and walked right back out again. His descriptive term for her voice is not "unique". *g*

PS: I found another favourite song. When You're Gone.

Bron, my dh has the nerve to diss the Cranberries while extolling the virtues of Jethro Tull (ad nauseam -- the nausea being mine!) He's bought every available album on CD Argh! Although we've come to an agreement that he only plays them either (a) when I'm out, or (b) in the garage where I can't hear it.

Now I've had that song Linger in my head.
I watched Almost Famous yesterday and the music in that really brought back memories.

Now not only do I have Linger in my head but I went to the Rock Star website to hear Dilana sing Zombie again(week 3)

Good negotiating on the JT, Yvonne. My dh only plays Coldplay and boy does that get old quick.

Christa, you will not get me going to rent Almost Famous to check out the music. I must be strong...

Bron
Almost Famous is set in the 70's so music by Zepplin, Beatles, Who, Bowie, Sabbath etc.. was featured in it. This movie embodied the idea of sex, drugs and rock and roll.
Today's movie was Phone Booth and Tomorrow's will be The Lakehouse. I am cat sitting for my sister and bil will they are in Panama(if they are not back by Tuesday, can I send you a cat or two?) They have about 150 dvds here. Now that I figured out the 3 remotes I can watch a movie. I'm not gonna try and figure out the one downstairs. it has 5 remotes.

I really like the Cranberries and was singing it in my head when I watched Click too, lol. I love Amy Lee the singer in the band Evanescence, she has a beautiful voice that stands out like Delores.

Christa, how did you enjoy your movies? Lake House was another I saw on the recent flight; this one I enjoyed. Phone Booth = a meh rating for me.

Yes, Dena, she is definitely a distinctive voice as well and their music is so emotive. I know quite a few authors who either write to their music or are inspire by it.

I watched Cold Mountain today. The make-up people did an excellent job making Nicole Kidman and Renee Zelweger(sp) not look glam.
