Sisters and Brothers

I'm referring to the television series (think I have the title right) which is starting on Aussie TV next week. I just read a newspaper article with the show's premise and quotes from Rachel Griffiths and Sally Fields about the show's heart, and I immediately pencilled it into my diary for next week. It really sounds like one I'll enjoy. Do we have any fans? Or any non-fans? The piece described it as the soap of our time, BTW, like a post-9/11 Dallas or West Wing gone soap opera. Accurate or just cute sound bites?

Late January and early February is when the new TV season starts here, so we see the return of old favourites like 24 and Lost and Desperate Housewives, plus the debut of the talked-about new shows. Heroes started this week, I believe, but I passed. Usually I'm too busy to marry myself to more than one addictive series at a time. Last year Grey's Anatomy won out. Son bought me Lost Season 2 on DVD for Christmas and I got to glom it within a week, which is a nice alternative to having to remember to watch or tape every week's episode. My memory not being what it used to be.

So, is anyone watching Sisters and Brothers ? What IS your #1 favourite television viewing pleasure?

I was watching it and then Crossing Jordan came back on so I haven't watched it the last 2 weeks but I will probably go back to it. I think my favourite show is Las Vegas.

Brothers and Sisters is a wonderful show! It started off a little slow here in the US, but has really picked up. It and 24 are two of my must see shows.

It used to be NICS but Greys knocked it down one and now Boston Legal is my favorite - but they're my top 3 picks lol.

Brothers and Sisters, right. Although Sisters and Brothers *sounds* better, don't you think? (gotta put us sisters first *g*). Ugly Betty and Men In trees are also starting here soon. Must. Not. Get. Intrigued. By. More. New. Shows. Although House is one I'd LOVE to watch regularly. And Las Vegas. And 24. *g*.

Let's see...I like a few shows that have started and want to try and watch a few of the new shows.

Past shows with new series:
24
Grey's
NCIS

New shows:
Heros (started off slow and trying to figure it out)
Brothers & Sisters (looks interesting)
What about Brian?
Ugly Betty

I did watch the first show of Heros (I recorded NCIS) and didn't quite know what to think of it as its a bit here and there. It reminded me a bit of Lost (people who I think is STILL lost but its just IMHO).

Should be an intersting new season of shows.

Hi Bron, I really like Brothers & Sisters,I don't think it's like a night time soap opera. It has humor, drama, love, family, and a great cast.I wasn't sure about Heroes either but I am glad I watched,it's very different from other shows. Other favorites are Men In Trees[you should definitely watch]Prison Break,Lost, and Bones.

My favorite TV show(s) for this year are Two but they both come on Thursday night.

Ugly Betty and
Grey's Anatomy. YEAH!

I nearly stopped watching Desperate
Houswives after season 2. Season 2 just lost something. I enjoy Bree and Lynette's characters so much that I gave DH a second chance and thank goodness they (the writers) started making the show more like season 1.

Gigi that's great to hear about DH. I also gave up during season 2 so looks like I need to give it another chance.

Dena, you've sold me on brothers & Sisters. That's definitely on the list (although we're on hol's this week and may not be TVing.)

Men in Trees and Ugly Betty I might have to check out as well.

Thanks, everyone!

Watched episofe 1 on Monday night (despite being on holidays *LOL*) and it was enjoyable but I was wondering if I'd bother. THEN the big hook ending and the preview of the next show: just like a prologue or set-up for a romance continuity series! I'm hooked. I'm there.
