This Week We Had Rain...

...when last week there was only dust.

This is our farm taken from the air a week ago, when a friend flew past on a dirty, dusty day. Hopefully after this week's lovely, slow, gentle rain we may be green in another week.

Oh wow. Thanks for posting that photo - definitely not what I'm used to. For your sake, I hope the rain comes and makes everything green. As for here, :D I hope we're rain free for a loooooooooong time.

Even if it was only dust when that photo was taken it is still gorgeous! Hope you get green soon.

Impressive photo. Thanks for this glimpse. Where I live there is very little moisture and certain areas can have dust when the winds begin. I hope that you have rain to soothe the poor dry earth.

Keeping good thoughts for just the right amount of rain, Bron! Thanks for sharing the photo.

A picture is indeed worth a thousand words, no? wow. It's amazing to know that the dust will become green shortly.

I agree with limecello. It is amazing that beneath that red earth are gazillion grass seeds waiting to sprout and throw a cool green carpet across your land. Fingers crossed for regular gentle rains, Bron. Hopefully that friend will fly over again when the grass has grown and you can post us the 'after' pic :-)

After last week's rain the season has changed. March was hot, hot, hot, hence the dry and the dust, but now autumn has truly arrived and the leaves are starting to change, the nights are cool and the thicker doona has come out. Yet the days = glorious. I love this tween season time. Would love it more if we got more rain LOL but still I think it is the dichotomy between night and day that I like most.

Gee, here in Michigan, we have had so much snow or rain that lake Michigan has recoved about 5 inches of it's lost depth from the last two years dry spells. I can't imagine living in such an arid place.
