Idol Does Mimi

An hour of Mariah Carey songs? Oh, boy. I almost didn't watch. I thought, geez this is almost enough that MJ might be glad to be gone. (JK.) I can't quite see him doing Mariah Carey, but then I couldn't imagine David Cook or Jason either and look what they did! Yep, I was pleasantly surprised because, as you may have guessed, Mariah's songs are not amongst my favourites and I expected train wreckage. Not so. They all did pretty good and I've just realised that its not the songs I dislike. Who knew? So, my favourite tonight: David Cook, hands down.

I agree with you about MC - sheer torture for me would be to be stuck in a waiting room listening to nothing but her and Celine Dion. Just not my cuppa tea.

I did like David Arculeta and David Cook - although some of his song was kinda mumbly and indistinct..... It's definitely going to be a guy winner this year

PS - Just finished Susannah's story (The Tycoon's One-Night Revenge)and loved it! :)

My first thought was "how will David Cook pull this off" but then he pulled off singing Michael Jackson's Billie Jean(albeit a different version) but he pulled it of brillantly. Hands down he was my favourite this week.

I will have to say David Cook was my fav last night. Idol just doesn't seem the same without Michael Johns. I am not into it as much now. I think they will boot one of the girls this week not sure which one. My guess would be Carly because Simon gives her a hard time, but he's hard on all of the girls.

I miss MJ! *sob*

I'm with you concerning Mariah Carey. David Cook definitely made that song his own!

David Cook was the best last night, but Jason Castro was a close second.

I don't care for MC either and to think - she passed Elvis Presley. That's just so wrong.

Nina, I knew I liked you at "sheer torture for me would be to be stuck in a waiting room listening to nothing but her and Celine Dion" but then you said "Just finished Susannah's story (The Tycoon's One-Night Revenge)and loved it!" and now I love you!

We all seem in agreement with Simon this week (whodathunkit?) The guys did do best. I'm afraid it may be Carly going, too, although I liked her better than any of the girls last night. There's a quality in her voice that I really like when she's restrained and not belting. But then I'm not a fan of teh belting of ballads at any time.

Catslady, unbelievable isn't it?

David Cook is my favorite now that Michael Johns is not there.

Crystal, I always find it interesting to listen and gauge audience response when they're introduced on results night. David C has definitely grown in popularity since the start and I think his style will appeal to Michael's fans. I hope he's around for many more weeks.

Bye bye Kristi Lee. Hope she gets her horse back.
