IDOL: Randyisms I Never Want To Hear Again

"Check it out, dawg."
"What's happening."
"It was okay for me, just okay."
"It got a little pitchy."
"Tryin' to keep it real."

That said, I though this week's show was okay for me, just okay. Not that some of the performances weren't good--they were--just that they weren't songs I liked...apart from Angels. As Simon said, one of the best pop songs, eva, and because I love the original it was hard to listen to David A's version. Not his fault, mine.

My favourites last night: Kristy Lee and Michael. Least favourite: David Cook and Carly, because of their song selections. Who will go? Ooh, tough, but I'm afraid it might be Carly. :-(

LOL - Bron,
I was so so so confused reading this post. Then, I realized you were talking about American Idol. Hehe

I was expecting a better choice of song by each of the Idols. Right with you preferring Kristy Lee and Michael.

I have to wonder if they really kick them out for one bad song that particular week or keep in mind how well they do overall? I wanted Kristy out for two or three weeks but then she had two good songs. I still like Carly overall for the women. If I had to pick today it probably would be David Cook but I like David A. but he doesn't do as well on the rock songs. Michael had a good couple of weeks too. As you can see I'm totally torn lol.

country is the best choice for Kristy. The top runners for me are David Cook and David A. There were a few others that came out strong but had a few weeks of a downward slide. Yeah and I do think Carly is going home tonight

I loved Jason Castro's performance this week. I think Kristy should go home. She's the weakest performer out of everyone.

Hey, I'm torn also. Have my couple of favourites, but then I get disappointed over a poor week (like Carly this week) or someone comes up trumps (like Kristy this week) and changes my opinion. I was a big Brooke fan until the last two weeks. Jason, not so much, but he did good this week and so I reckon he'll be safe.

Is the results show late this week in America too because of the Giving Back show? In Australia they're not showing the results show till Sunday night.

I am so with you on the Randyisms. The one that is beginning to get to me is when he disapointed in their performance and he says "I'm not mad at ya." Come on! It's not as if they are performing for him personally. /big sigh.

Get to see tonight the results on who gets voted off. Last two weeks I knew right away almost instinctively who would get voted off. This week, not so much. I'm afraid Carly may get voted off. She did sing almost angrily. The Show Must Go On is a very emotional song, but it should have been one of strong conviction, not anger. It's much easier to say it from this side of the TV screen.

My favs are the David Cook & Michael Johns. David Archuleta does have a smooth voice, I just don't care for his song choices. Rocker woman at heart here.

/hugs

I just watch the results show and I am MAD, MAD, MAD. You will not believe who they kicked off. I thought it would be Carly but I was wrong. I wanted it to be Jason I don't care for his singing as much as the others. He is just a pretty boy!! When you watch the results show you will be MAD! MAD! MAD! too.

I don't want Jason there either. He must get votes based on his looks and charm. His singing lacks power and he seems to play it safe it week.

So angry I can barely write this. I've written an email to American Idol asking them to reconsider and let the person they voted off back on. No, won't spoil it for you Bronwyn.

Oh..and good morning :)

Hey Bronwyn,
i'm with you, i think the
judges need to come up with
new comments to tell the
contestants. the other's are
getting old. of course i do
love Simon's comments,
sometimes i think he is a little
bit unkind, but it is a contest.
How shocking was it that michael
was eliminated? My jaw dropped just
like Paula's. LOL

Oh, noes, you've given away the result! *sobs* Actually, I was reading through the comments thinking from your shocked response that it might have been David Cook. Or Brooke.

I will still watch the results show tomorrow night as I'd like to see the reaction, from judges and the audience, as I really thought he was a favourite. (Also, I am always entertained by the group number and choreo.)

A couple of theories:
1. he's Australian
2. he's older and the biggest voting block is younguns who are lovin' Jason and David
3. his song this week may not have been as well known or received??? I really liked it, but not sure if I'm reflective of the core audience.

Sad he's gone, but I do hope the exposure gives his career a shot in the arm. Also glad I used his lovely pic this week.

I haven't watched the show yet, I have it taped. I wish Randy would be more original and actually give some constructive critcism instead of being a broken record.

I don't know Bronwyn. I think he being Austrian was a major plus, at least it was in my book :)

His age, yeah, that might have been a factor considering the younger ones that were going hysterical over Jason and David A.

His song choice, "Dream On" by Aerosmith - I thought it was really good. Of course it's hard when you compare his voice to Steven Tyler's..but was still a very strong vocal in my opinion.

Seriously am going to miss him and wish they would reconsider and give him a second chance.

Beth, I forgive you. *g* Half an hour until the show here; at least now I am prewarned it won't be such a shock!
