I had to put that in the title line because, as far as titles go, it is so very grand. What it is... The Colorado Romance Writers annual contest for published romance books, which they've called
The Award of Excellence. Authors enter their own books so you're judged against the other entered books. Correspondence says that entries were high and competition fierce in the Short Contemporary category, and given the other finalists I choose to believe that is true.
Wedded in a Whirlwind ~ Liz Fielding
The Daddy Dilemma ~ Karen Rose Smith
The Tycoon's One-Night Revenge ~ Bronwyn Jameson
The Billionaire' s Bought Mistress ~ Annie West
And Baby Makes Four ~ Mary J. Forbes
The winner is announced at the Romancing the Rockies conference on May 1-2. Quade: The Irresistible One and The Rugged Loner also were finalists in this contest so I'm hoping for third time lucky.

...The Princes Go Spanish, ole!Spanish is usually the first translation we see of our books, as Harlequin does a Spanish language translation for the North American market several months after the English. They don't do all Desires, but most. So after the 2005 release of my Princes of the Outback trilogy, I watched and I waited but alas no Spanish translation in 2006 or 2007. :(
I'd given up and then, lo, it appears. Harlequin Deseo in September 2008. You can't imagine how happy I am. Friends, I will stop whining now, honest, although I would still love to see the series in eBook. For now, Spanish has made me insanely happy. Hopefully the other "Princes" will follow.
Entre el alma y la piel (2008)
Serie: Príncipes de las llanuras australianas
Título Original: The rugged loner (2005)
Género: Contemporáneo
Protagonistas: Tomas Carlisle y Angelina Mori
Aside: the title translates as "Among the soul and skin"...although I dare say there is a more poetic interpretation than the machine translation. Labels: foreign translations, Princes of the Outback, The Rugged Loner
Some foreign covers just beat the original all ways to Sunday. This is pretty close to how I envisaged Tomas and Angie when I wrote The Rugged Loner so I had to share the cover. In the same package I received a duo with
The Rich Stranger and
The Ruthless Groom, also a July release in Holland, but something funky happened between scan and loading into here. I may try again, not because the cover is pretty but because it's from a category book on my keeper shelf by a favourite author.
She didn't like it much either. *g*
