UK in April
Two books in one month, which is quite the novelty and treat when I'm lucky to get out two new books a year. One is the first UK release of Tycoon's One-Night Revenge, in a duet with Leanne Banks' Bedded by the Billionaire. The second is a reprint of Beyond Control in a Spotlight Collection with Suzanne Brockmann's Scenes of Passion and Justine Davis's Midnight Seduction. The book is titled Irresistible Attraction. Sexy cover, yes?

The UK books are also available as Adobe eBooks. Labels: Beyond Control, covers, eBooks, foreign translations, Irresistible Attraction, Justine Davis, Leanne Banks, Suzanne Brockmann, Tycoon's One-Night Revenge

More Covers
Vows & a Vengeful Groom in Germany. Different cover art, different title: Your Lips, Your Kisses...Irresistible. This book's also out in Spain, same cover, but with a title that translates as Scandals and Diamonds. See why I have such fun with the translations? No two are ever the same. This one ISN'T my book, but the cover art looks oddly familiar. *g* In the UK my VOWS came out in a double with book 2 in the mini-series and they used Tessa's cover. And here's mine on a Spotlight title, Ready For Marriage, with reprints of stories by Anne Marie Winston, Beverly Barton and Ann Major. New Translations
Tycoon's One-Night Revenge, in French that would be The Lover Without A Past. Isn't this the prettiest cover ever? And Vows & A Vengeful Groom in Sweden would be Wonder The Glint Surfaces. Yes, I know, but that's what the translation agent said and I can make no sense of it. Nice cover, though. Labels: foreign translations

International Diamonds
Very pleased to see the Diamonds Down Under series starting to appear on international Harlequin sites. Holland was first in October, with my Vows & a Vengeful Groom retitled VOWS AND VENGEANCE: Then the UK in December: And Germany in January. No cover yet but my title translates as YOUR LIPS, YOUR KISSES. IRRESISTIBLE. (thanks, Paula!) Labels: Diamonds Down Under, foreign translations, Vows and a Vengeful Groom

From Amazon UK
With many thanks to Maxine Sullivan for passing on the link, I've learned of some fun releases in the UK in 2009. In April my first hardcover release, Tycoon's One-Night Revenge. I believe these are printed mostly for the library market and therefore sales are limited but my mates who write for M&B London often give me one of these as an advance read and now I'm getting one of my own. Tickled pink. Same month I'm listed in an anthology titled Irresistible Attraction with Suzanne Brockmann and Justine Davis. Yes, I know!!! Cool factor=subzero. I have no idea which of my books this is, and am playing the guessing gamne. Perhaps Quade, my irresistible one, and my bestselling book in the UK to date. Perhaps the lovely cover had something to do with that. In May Tycoon's One-Night Revenge will have its paperback release in a duo with a fab and stylish Leanne Banks number. Leanne just happens to be one of my favourite Desire authors. My face she is smiling. In Three Weeks Time...
...I will be on a beach like this. Well, perhaps not *exactly* like this. Chances are there will be a lot more people. And waves. I won't be sitting on the beach playing kissyface either, I will be standing with my camera recording the efforts of certain intrepid authors on surfboards. It has been pointed out that money could be made keeping those pictures private but that would be blackmail, right? One of my least favourite ploys. The beach, BTW, is the cover of Quade: The Irresistible One in Lithuania. For the second time. Here is the first cover as a single ===>>>; this latest one is a duet with Amy Fetzer's Taming The Beast. Seemed strange to get two translations in the one country relatively close together so I double-checked and it's the same title, Zavusis Kveidas, and the same blurb. It's a pretty cover and it could be Chantal and Quade. On their honeymoon. I think they'd have chosen an isolated island beach somewhere. How about you? Where did you spend your honeymoon? I have your choice from my available back titles as a giveaway. (Prize drawn July 15.) Labels: foreign translations, Quade: The Irresistible One

I Love Harlequin!
I know I often remind myself how lucky I am to be writing for Harlequin, but I don't think I say it out loud often enough. Yesterday, two things that made me smile all over my face while thinking, I do love Harlequin, I do, I do. 1. I bought some eBooks from Harlequin's store; had a problem with recognition of the coupon. I emailed customer care to let them know and they not only dealt with it immediately, they were most generous in how they dealt with it. I love that as well as discounting the books, they often, regularly (all the time?), offer extra specials and discounts. 2. A couple weeks back a friend emailed me the link to my latest French translation and because this is a duo with my good friend Yvonne Lindsay and because the cover is all kinds of lovely, I wanted a copy. Instead of whining about never getting copies of my French books via the usual channels (as I do), I contacted the fabulous Harlequin Australia office. Unheralded a big package arrived in my mail box yesterday: all seven of my French translations! Labels: eBooks, foreign translations, Harlequin

Just When I Thought It Would Never Happen...
...The Princes Go Spanish, ole!Spanish is usually the first translation we see of our books, as Harlequin does a Spanish language translation for the North American market several months after the English. They don't do all Desires, but most. So after the 2005 release of my Princes of the Outback trilogy, I watched and I waited but alas no Spanish translation in 2006 or 2007. :( I'd given up and then, lo, it appears. Harlequin Deseo in September 2008. You can't imagine how happy I am. Friends, I will stop whining now, honest, although I would still love to see the series in eBook. For now, Spanish has made me insanely happy. Hopefully the other "Princes" will follow. Entre el alma y la piel (2008) Serie: Príncipes de las llanuras australianas Título Original: The rugged loner (2005) Género: Contemporáneo Protagonistas: Tomas Carlisle y Angelina Mori Aside: the title translates as "Among the soul and skin"...although I dare say there is a more poetic interpretation than the machine translation. Australsky romanek
Have mentioned before that I still get a kick from receiving copies of the foreign translations of my books. These are Back In Fortune's Bed in Italy and the Czech Republic. And, yes, seeing Bronwyn Jamesonova on the cover still makes me grin. So does the title Australsky romanek for a book set in South Dakota and Kentucky. (Let's just assume that the Sydney backdrop is a honking big picture on the wall of the Lexington hotel featured in the book, okay? *g*) This reminds me: I have updated the page of foreign translations on my website. I've put up a selection of covers for several of my books so you can check (or Czech) out the various looks all in the one place. Labels: Back In Fortune's Bed, covers, foreign translations

January in the UK
Not me, unfortunately, although I am visiting London and surrounding counties in my current series of book (for 2009) and a trip to the UK would be fabulous research. Alas, I'm talking about BACK IN FORTUNE'S BED which is being released into the northern winter as a Desire Duo with Peggy Moreland's Merger of Fortunes. What could be better than two Fortunes? How about two Fortunes for free. All comments on any of my blog posts during January will go in the draw to win this book. Labels: Back In Fortune's Bed, foreign translations, giveaway, UK

What Are These Characters Doing On My Book?
Yesterday I received my copies of the Lithuanian translation of Just A Taste. Or, as they like to call it in Lithuania, Tik Viena Bucini. The characters look nothing like Seth and Jillian...which is okay because in Lithuania they're known as Setas and Lilijana. LOL. What IS that thing growing on his chin???Labels: covers, foreign translations, Just A Taste, Lithuania

The Enemy I Seduced
I rather like that title, which is a roughish (and amateur) translation of the German version of The Bought-and-Paid-For Wife. I like it significantly more than the first version the translation engine came up with: The Enemy That I Debauched. *g* According to Cora the book is now available in all its German glory. I'm quite liking the cover...although is it just me or does she look a little bit pregnant? Labels: Bought-and-Paid-For Wife, covers, foreign translations

The Dutch Loner
Some foreign covers just beat the original all ways to Sunday. This is pretty close to how I envisaged Tomas and Angie when I wrote The Rugged Loner so I had to share the cover. In the same package I received a duo with The Rich Stranger and The Ruthless Groom, also a July release in Holland, but something funky happened between scan and loading into here. I may try again, not because the cover is pretty but because it's from a category book on my keeper shelf by a favourite author. She didn't like it much either. *g* Labels: covers, foreign translations, The Rugged Loner

Three In One
After five years as a Harlequin author I still get quite a kick out of each and every foreign translation I receive. In today's mail I received 3 new Scandinavian editions, including my first 3-in-1's. I love firsts, don't you? And I also love this cover treatment, with the curtain and the kiss, although the heroine looks more like Emily from A Tempting Engagement than Jillian from Just A Taste. Anyway, one of 3-in-1s has glittery gold hearts sprinkled on the cover and they catch the light as you move the book. Pretty. The one with the glittery stars is Finnish, the other pair appear to be Swedish. I'm smiling at the titles. Mine is Sex, Logner...Och Vin. Not sure about the Logner, but I think I understand the Sex and Vin part without any translation. :-) The second book is Sheri Whitefeather's Cherokeee Stranger, although in Swedish he is apparently a Ratt Man. Can someone tell me what that really translates as? I am intrigued. Labels: foreign translations, Harlequin, Just A Taste

A Flurry of Snowflakes
This week I received quite a number of the distinctive yellow envelopes which contain Harlequin foreign editions.I love receiving these, knowing my books are out there in so many world markets, and I hope that feeling never grows old. This weekend I've opened all the envelopes. At first I thought: Oh. They've made a mistake and send several batches of the same book. Bummer. But on closer inspection I noted the two different cover pictures--both with the same flurry of snowflakes, I might add--AND the seven different titles. I now have the full set of Scandinavian translations (Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland) for The Rich Stranger and The Ruthless Groom. I also received The Rich Stranger, UK edition, and The Ruthless Groom in German, as well as Just A Taste from Greece and Poland. I'm including the two snowflake covers, just because it's a rottenly hot and dusty day here in Australia. The snowflakes--and some yummy passionfruit yoghurt ice-cream--are helping make it bearable.
