Tim Tams
You might have noticed me refer to
Tim Tams from time to time. I often
include them in contest prizes and
as giveaways at chats. This summer
I’m taking a stack to the RWA
National Conference in Reno.
What
are Tim Tams? Take two chocolate biscuits
(=cookies in America), sandwich them
with chocolate, and coat the lot in more
chocolate. That’s the original;
there are now many variations: double-coated,
chewy caramel, tia maria, hazelnut truffle,
black forest, choc-chilli, et al.
I’ve tried ‘em all and always
come back to the original. Nothing fancy,
just the perfect combination of texture
and flavor. This is the quintessential
chocolate biscuit; not an indulgence,
but a necessity to ward off both writer’s
block and PMS. Look out for them in my
contest packs!
A Few of my Favorite Things
This month, a few of my all-time favorite
reads (in no particular order):
1. No Place
Like Home, by Barbara
Samuel
Hard choice,
deciding on
one favorite
from all my
favorite Barbara
Samuel/Ruth
Wind reads.
She is a goddess.

2. Ain’t She
Sweet, by Susan
Elizabeth Phillips
How does she get away
with turning Sugar-Beth
into a heroine I liked?
Oh, yeah, and Colin didn’t
hurt. Or the Georgette
Heyer references.

3. Mr. Perfect,
by Linda Howard
I have a love-hate relationship
with Howard. Some of her
heroes, I just want to
do violence to. But when
I love her, I really, really love
her!

4. Notorious Groom,
by Caroline Cross
Along with Private
Reasons by
Justine Davis and several
of Barbara McCauley’s Secrets series,
the perfect illustration
of why I love Silhouette
Desires.

5. Devil’s
Cub, by Georgette
Heyer
I grew up on Heyer. She
is responsible for my love
of romance in general,
and regency-set historical
romances in particular.
I heart Vidal!

6. Lord of Scoundrels,
by Loretta Chase
A recent discovery and
a revelation. Loretta Chase,
where have you been all
my life?
